Meet the ITV Weather Team across the UK

Aisling Creevey – ITV News Anglia and UTV Live
Aisling has loved clouds and weather since she was a little girl. She says she was always curious why the weather was different every day and why it was never warm in Ireland in the summer!
Many years later, she completed a Masters in Meteorology in UCD and then came to the UK to start a career as a weather forecaster with MeteoGroup UK. Three years later she retrained with the Met Office to become a low flying aviation meteorologist working alongside the RAF. Later she moved to the BBC where she worked as a forecaster and eventually a weather presenter for the BBC. She joined ITV in 2017 as a weather presenter for ITV Anglia and UTV.
Aisling sits on the board of the Royal Meteorological Society and is interested in helping younger people with careers in science.
When Aisling is not in the office she is busy running around after her two young boys who don’t seem one bit interested in the weather!

Alex Beresford – ITV News National
Alex grew up in Bristol where he still lives today. As a child he spent a lot of time with his weather obsessed grandmother who sparked an interest in him from a young age. A few years on Alex developed an interest in the media and by chance an opportunity came up to combine his two interests at ITV West Country. Since 2005 Alex has been part of the weather team and his responsibilities also stretch across ITV Network Weather and Good Morning Britain. He’s also presented a number of weather documentaries on Channel 4. Alex also has a passion for current affairs and can be seen presenting ITV’s ‘Tonight’ programme.

Outside of work Alex spends most of his time with his son in Bristol and when he’s not being daddy can be found in the gym which has been another big passion since he was 17.

Amanda Houston
From a young age Amanda wanted to work in weather and at 18 auditioned to be a Weather Presenter on The Big Breakfast…but it was a few years before her break came.
Whilst studying Broadcast Meteorology with the Met Office, Amanda worked in various roles within the TV industry, but the dream job still hadn’t arrived.  So after years of trying she decided to embark on a new life in Australia, but as fate would have it, two weeks before she was due to leave the country, she was finally offered a Weather Presenter role at ITV Anglia.
Amanda spent five years forecasting for the east of England before moving to London in 2013, she now covers a mix of ITV regional and national bulletins.
Amanda is also a qualified yoga and meditation teacher and is passionate about promoting mental wellbeing within local communities and newsroom environments.
In her spare time Amanda can be found down the local with her husband, or mixing house music…over the years she’s played in bars and clubs around the UK…although these days she’s more a bedroom DJ.

Becky Mantin – ITV News National
A true Norfolk girl, Becky started her presenting career at ITV Anglia in 2000 where she combined her onscreen work with radio and magazine journalism. Five years later, and after a little light meteorological dabbling for Channel Five, Sky and Channel 4, she moved to London to join the national weather team working across ITV’s network shows.
Becky’s hobbies are all extreme and frequently end in injury and complete disaster; ocean yacht racing, rock climbing, snowboarding, surfing and tiddlywinks. She is an enthusiastic singer (also extreme if standing on a table) and a truly appalling dancer.
Since her fourth child was born, however, she has devoted the entirety of her time away from work to domestic servitude. Very happily. (Almost all the time).

Charlie Powell – ITV West Country
Charlie first caught the weather bug in his early teens when he was watching thunderstorms from his bedroom window. Yes, a self-confessed weather geek from an early age sent him on his path to studying geography and meteorology at the University of Birmingham, before joining the Met Office in 2008.
Most of his time there was spent as a forecaster, with small stints as a press officer and digital marketer, but he ended up fully immersed briefing weather broadcasters and presenting a few videos.
In June 2018 an opportunity arose to cross the bridge from being behind the camera to standing in front of it, and he’s loved being part of the West Country weather team ever since.
Away from work his two young boys keep him busy, and with any free time left over he’s usually exploring the south west on foot and taking a few photographs. He can also serenade a (very) small audience on the piano or guitar, if you twist his arm.

Chris Page – ITV News Anglia
Chris is a local boy to the Anglia region, raised in Norwich, Norfolk. He’s always been interested in weather, ever since building his first rain gauge with his dad when he was six. But it wasn’t until high school that his passion for physical geography developed. Chris graduated from the University of Reading in 2012, joined the Met Office in Exeter and qualified as a meteorologist.
During his time at the Met Office, Chris worked alongside the military, forecasting at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, the Army Air Corps in Wattisham, Suffolk and a six-month detachment to RAF Ascension Island in the South Atlantic Ocean. Before joining ITV Anglia Weather in 2017, Chris regularly presented the weather on Channel 5.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys exploring new cities around the world, sailing, socialising with friends, and taking in the fresh air by the coast. He also loves eating out and trying new food, but regularly goes to the gym to compensate!

Des is a busy man who never stops. His career is incredibly diverse and spans theatre, film and television. He has managed to pick up a few accolades along the way with BAFTA and RTS to name a few.

Emma Jesson – ITV News Granada
Frequently recognised for her sunny “Bye Bye” sign-off, Emma is one of the longest serving weather presenters at ITV. She started as a colourful, quirky regular on national breakfast television, and has had her head in the clouds – and ITV Weather regions – since 1992, also presenting countryside programmes. Emma’s always had a keen interest in the weather, especially since she hails from the North West where there is rather a lot of it… She originally trained to be a vet, but side-stepped into TV. As she made the leap from vet to met, she found that working with exotic species gave her quite a good grounding for a career in television… she’s taken part in some heart-stopping, daredevil features over the years.Emma has done every job behind the camera, and worked as a radio journalist before achieving her ambition of joining the ITV Weather team. Somewhat prophetically, her first ever radio report involved covering the hottest day of the year and frying an egg on the pavement – two of her favourite interests, weather and cooking! When she’s not scratting around in the garden or the kitchen, this one-woman wildlife feeding station enjoys dinner and a musical, languages and observational comedy, reformer pilates – and when there’s time – sleeping.

Holly Green – ITV News Meridian
As a child Holly always made a nightly appointment to watch her favourite weather forecasters on the evening news.
To follow in the footsteps of her weather heroes, she studied Maths and Meteorology before training as a Met Office forecaster and finding herself working in the wilds of Lincolnshire at RAF Coningsby. Forecasting for the pilots of the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight certainly put her through her paces.
Next stop was the BBC Weather Centre where she forecast behind the camera before stepping in front of the green screen at BBC Spotlight in Plymouth in 2014.
Finally Holly got a chance to join ITV Meridian – the very programme she’d grown up watching – and now she’s the one doing her best to get it right every night!

“The best thing about my job is seeing how other people respond to and (hopefully) enjoy our British weather.  After nearly two decades of local weather presenting it still – almost every day – keeps me on my toes”.
